| Since Table Talk was started in 1997 there have been over 100 events
with lots of friendships and several marriages resulting. Most Table Talk members come to me through recommendation from their friends. Once their registration has been accepted, members are sent details of events. Dinner parties have on average 40 guests, typically seated at tables of 10 with a pre-arranged table plan which involves the guests changing seats between courses to maximise the opportunity to meet as many people as possible. The menus vary according to the restaurant but a vegetarian option is always available by prior arrangement. The aim of Table Talk is to provide an opportunity for single people to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere, meet new people and have a good evening out. Sometimes romance also blossoms but there is no formal matchmaking although a careful effort is made with table plans to ensure that the age group is as advertised and that there are even numbers of men and women and that the people accepted as members are like minded, friendly and sociable. In addition to dinner parties, there have also been many parties and social events in and around the London area, the cost varies according to the event. The age group of each event varies as advertised prior to the event eg 25-35, 30-40 or 35-45. All events are now no-smoking, where possible an area is allocated for smoking.
